Foutou of plantains with smoked chicken: Foutou
Plantains are enjoyed by the Ivorian people and are used as a base for many delicious dishes. They are the main ingredient in the traditional dish of the South:
Attieke:
A cassava (also known as yuca or manioc) couscous, attieke is a speciality in Côte d'Ivoire and is traditionally served with grilled chicken or fish and fresh tomato sauce.
Kedjenou:
Kedjenou is an Ivorian game or chicken stew traditionally eaten by farm workers and hunters.
Aloco with grilled fish (Djovant pepper sauce):
Aloco is one of the most important dishes in Côte d'Ivoire! It is made with plantains fried in raw (not processed) red palm oil.
Experts or curious people can savour this dish with mashed djovant peppers!
Rice or foutou in peanut sauce:
Recipes for peanut sauce can be found in several African countries, including Côte d'Ivoire. It goes by many different names and is made differently in each area.
This sauce is full of flavours and can be adjusted according to taste. Peanut sauce is often served as an accompaniment to fish or meat.
All dishes are homemade and prepared using only the freshest ingredients.

| The villa is located in the department of Hérault in Languedoc-Roussillon, France, in a small town named Le Crès. It is a 10 minute drive from Montpellier and from the 28th exit of the A9 highway. We are a 20 minute drive from the sea and 1.5 km from the nearest tram station (2nd line - the red one with big flowers). Our villa is in a quiet new housing development. There is a pharmacy, a medical center, a service station and a supermarket 500 metres away. |
